Know the price before they knock.
Snap a photo of what broke. Get a fair, upfront price in about a minute. Book a licensed, rated pro at that price. No haggling, no calling around, and nothing paid at the door.
No heat: boiler ignitor not lighting
Fix soonRated by your neighbors
Getting something fixed shouldn't feel like a negotiation.
The old way
- Call five contractors. Wait for two to call back.
- Get a price at the door, based on who answers it.
- Haggle, or wonder if you should have.
- "We found more problems." The bill grows.
- Cash or a deposit, handed to a stranger.
With Level
- One photo. A line-item price in about a minute.
- The same price for everyone, set before anyone comes over.
- A rated, licensed pro accepts the job at that price.
- Extra work shows up in the app with photos. You approve it or you don't.
- Your payment is held in the app and paid out only after the pro proves the job is done with photos.
Walk the job. Tap Approve. Paid.
You pay in the app when you book. The money is held safely until the job is done. When the pro finishes, you walk it together and tap Approve, and the pro is paid on the spot. The homeowner knows the work gets done and the pro knows the money is there.
- 1You book and payYour upfront price is charged in the app. Nothing is paid at the door.
- 2Money is heldOur payment partner holds it. The pro can see it's paid but can't touch it yet.
- 3Walk the jobThe pro snaps the job's photo checklist, like the new boiler running or every side of the roof, and Level's AI checks it in about a minute. Then you look it over together.
- 4Approve and it's paidTap Approve and the pro is paid right away. No answer? Verified work pays out automatically after 24 hours.
For homeowners
You never hand cash or a deposit to a stranger. Extra work only happens if you approve it in the app. Walk the job with the pro before you approve. If something's wrong, tap Report a problem with a photo and the payment stays on hold.
For pros
The customer has already paid before you roll a truck. No chasing checks, and nobody can sit on your money. You know the photo checklist before you accept. Finish the job, snap the checklist, walk it with the customer, and you're paid the moment they tap Approve. If they go quiet, verified work pays out automatically in 24 hours. Pay can only be stopped by a specific problem backed by a photo.
If something goes wrong
- Report it with a photo. Instead of approving, the customer names what's wrong and adds a photo. The payment is held. "I just don't want to pay" doesn't stop it.
- Decided in minutes. Level's AI compares the pro's proof photos, the customer's photo, the agreed scope and the chat, and makes a call right away.
- A fair outcome. The pro comes back to fix it within 72 hours, the payment goes out in full, or part of it is refunded. Refunds over $250, damage and safety issues always get a person.
- Settled within 24 hours. Clear-cut cases settle in an hour or two; closer calls get up to 24 hours. Either side can appeal once to a Level team member in that window. Otherwise the decision takes effect automatically.
Snap it. See the price. Book it.
Snap it
Pick what's going on, tap the symptom, and take a photo. For boilers and water heaters, a shot of the label or error code helps most.
See the price
You get the likely problem, how urgent it is, and a line-item upfront price based on real NYC rates. Renters also see whether it's the landlord's job.
Book it
A licensed, rated pro accepts the job at that price. You see who's coming before they arrive and pay in the app when it's done.

price.
The price is set by the job, not by who answers the door. Young or old, first-timer or pro, everyone sees the same number, and it's locked before the pro shows up.
Straightforward from start to finish.
Approve on the spot
Your payment is held securely until you walk the finished job and tap Approve. Then the pro is paid right away. Never cash, never a deposit to the worker.
See who's coming
Name, license number, insurance and rating before they ring the bell, sent to you and anyone you add.
Changes need your OK
If the pro finds more work, it comes to you in the app with photos and a price. Nothing extra is charged unless you approve it.
Everything stays in the app
Message your pro, send photos, and approve changes in one thread. Phone numbers stay private, and there's a record if anything goes wrong.
Star ratings, both ways
After every job you rate the pro and the pro rates you, with stars and quick tags like "On time" or "Fixed it right." Neither side sees the other's review until both are in, so ratings stay honest. Pros who keep 4.8 stars earn a Top Pro badge.
Licensed & insured pros
We check licenses and insurance before a pro can accept a single job.

Good questions.
How accurate is the upfront price?
Prices come from real NYC flat rates for licensed, insured pros, matched to your photo and answers. The pro confirms on site before starting. If they find something different, they send a change request with photos and you decide.
When do I pay?
You pay in the app when you book. The money is held by our payment partner, not handed to the pro, and it goes to the pro when the job is done: the pro snaps finish photos, you walk the job together, and you tap Approve. If you don't approve or report a problem within 24 hours, verified work pays out automatically.
What if I'm not happy with the work?
Don't approve. Tap Report a problem, say what's wrong, and add a photo. The payment stays on hold and Level's AI reviews the proof photos, your photo, the agreed scope and the chat within minutes, and it's settled within 24 hours. The outcome is a fix by the pro, full payment, or a partial refund. Refunds over $250, damage and safety issues always go to a person, and either side can appeal once.
What are Level Comps?
Like comps in real estate, but for home repairs. When you get a price or a quote, Level shows what people near you actually paid for similar jobs, by ZIP code, within about 2 miles, by borough or county, or across NYC. Comps come from finished Level jobs and receipts people upload and we verify. They never show names or addresses, and we only show them when there are at least three similar jobs. Comps are in beta while we build up local data, so early results may lean on fewer jobs and wider areas.
I'm a pro. What if a customer just won't pay?
They can't hold your money without a reason. Before you accept a job you see its photo checklist. When you finish, snap each item in the app. Walk the job with the customer and you're paid the moment they tap Approve. If they go quiet, verified photos pay you automatically in 24 hours. A customer can only pause that with a specific problem and a photo, and that's decided in minutes. If you think the call is wrong, you can appeal once to a person.
What if the pro finds more work?
They send a change request in the app with photos and a price. Nothing extra happens and nothing extra is charged unless you approve it.
Are the pros licensed and insured?
Yes. Every pro goes through license, insurance and background checks before they can accept jobs, and every job is rated.
Can I book for my parents?
Yes. Book on their behalf, add yourself or another family member to the job, and everyone gets the pro's name, license and rating before the visit.
I rent. Is this for me?
Yes. Level tells you whether a repair is probably your landlord's responsibility, explains your NYC rights on things like heat and hot water, and writes the repair request for you. If it's on you, you can book a pro like anyone else.
Can you pick up from the store and build it?
Yes. Book Level Haul from the parking lot and a nearby van or truck picks up at TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, IKEA, Home Depot or any store. Add assembly and it gets built when it arrives, or book assembly on its own for flat-pack you already have. You see the full price before you book and pay in the app when it's done.
How do reviews work?
Only real, completed Level jobs can be reviewed. The customer rates the pro and the pro rates the customer with 1 to 5 stars, quick tags, and an optional note. Reviews are revealed at the same time, once both are posted or after 7 days, so nobody can retaliate. Pros see a customer's rating before accepting a job, and customers see a pro's rating before they come over.
Can I just call?
Yes, any time, day or night. Level's virtual assistant answers every call, takes down the problem, walks you through safety steps for things like a gas smell or a burst pipe, and books your pro or sets up your price. Prefer texting? Text the same number.
Where is Level available?
All five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, Westchester and the Hudson Valley, North and Central New Jersey, and Fairfield and New Haven counties in Connecticut. Every pro holds the license their town or state requires. Join early access and we'll tell you the moment pros are booking in your ZIP code.
